Kristan Harrington, MBA, RT (R)(MR) MRSO (MRSC™)
As the owner of T2 Star Radiology Solutions, I am proud to bring more than 30 years of experience in the field of MRI. My career began at Emory University, where I established a strong clinical foundation before transitioning into applications and leadership roles within the corporate sector for 12 years.
I later returned to Emory to lead the Bachelor's Degree Program in MRI, where I focused on advancing education and training for the next generation of MRI professionals.
In addition to my academic work, I have built an independent career as a national and international speaker as an educator, presenting on multitude of topics, with a focus on MRI Safety.
I currently serve as the Secretary Treasurer of the American Board of MR Safety (ABMRS) as well as the Chair of the MR Safety Officer Exam Specification Committee. In these capacities I focus on advancing safety standards across the industry while assisting facilities with risk mitigation and MRI Safety education to prevent accidents from occurring.

With over 25 years of experience in MRI technology and patient care, I specialize in Advanced Siemens MRI systems, collaborating closely with radiologists and technologists to optimize imaging protocols and ensure consistently high-quality results. This hands-on approach ensures optimized workflows and elevates the standard of care across diverse clinical environments.
As a certified MR Safety Officer (MRSO) and MR Safety Expert (MRSE), I serve on the Board of Directors for the American Board of MR Safety (ABMRS), contributing to the MRSO Exam Specification Committee and multiple working groups. My commitment to elevating safety standards spans clinical practice, education, and national protocol development.
I lead initiatives in staff training, workflow optimization, and the integration of cutting-edge imaging technologies. A central focus of my work is the standardization of MR safety procedures to reduce risk and improve outcomes across diverse healthcare environments.
In addition to clinical and educational leadership, I provide expert consultation in legal cases involving MRI safety, offering insight into best practices, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
My mission is to advance MRI safety and performance through expert protocols, education, and clinical collaboration—empowering teams to deliver consistent, accountable imaging care.
Kellye Chia, RT (R)(MR) MRSO (MRSC™), MRSE (MRSC™)

I serve on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (ABMRS), where I am the Vice Chair of the Electronic Examination Delivery Committee and a member of both the MRSO and MRSE Examination Specification Committees. I also sit on the Governing Board of the ISMRT and serve as Vice Chair of the ISMRT MR Safety Committee.
A registered MRI technologist with more than 14 years of clinical experience, I am credentialed as both an MRSO and MRSE. Before joining Metrasens, I served as the lead MRSO at a Level 1 trauma center, where I collaborated closely with the site’s MRMD to develop and implement comprehensive MRI safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
In addition to my organizational leadership roles, I work as an independent MRI safety consultant with three years of experience supporting hospitals, outpatient centers, and legal teams as both a strategic advisor and expert witness. My consulting work includes MRI safety program development, risk assessment, incident analysis, and expert testimony in MRI safety–related cases.
My expertise spans MRI safety education, regulatory alignment, risk mitigation, and systems-level safety improvement. I am passionate about advancing MRI safety through education, advocacy, and global collaboration.
